Mike was born in San Diego and raised near the Smokey Mountains of Tennessee. As with any respectable Southerner, he grew up with a healthy knowledge of vehicles of all kinds and how to handle them. A curious kid and fast learner, Mike quickly built his reputation behind the wheel. He jumped in the seat of just about anything from go-karts to motorcycles, to off-shore race boats to big rigs and heavy equipment and practiced until he had a mastery of all of them. Starting at 18, Mike was mentored by stunt men Ronnie Ross, George Fisher and Buzz Bundy. Ross took Mike’s natural talent with cars and had him on set as a stunt driver within six months of beginning his training. Mike continues to work at his craft to constantly to stay practiced and ahead of the sheer dynamics of an action scene or race and even after years in the business, he is still enthusiastic about his work. In the last 16 years, Mike has set 6 records in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb and had 12 wins racing a big rig. Additionally, 2 more wins and records in New Zealand and he recently established the course record for a big rig at the Mt. Washington Hill Climb in New Hampshire. "I became a little bored with just doing car stunts. After you have done all the various manouvers, spins, slides, jumps, roll overs and crashes, there wasn't much left to do that a person could survive, so I started playing with big trucks to see if I could do in them, what I can do in a car. A lot of them have worked out really well and I am proud of them. Out "Size Matters" big rig drifting video on YouTube has had nearly a million views in a little under 4 months. Now, we are working on some really cool things for the next video and hope to translate that kind of action onto film in the near future" Really! Who can drift a semi-truck. The more challenging the scene, the more he works to create a movie moment fans will talk about for years to come. When a director is describing a complicated maneuver and isn’t sure how it’s going to work, that’s when you see Mike smiling.
