In 1977, when I met Stunt Coordinator/ Stunt Man Ronnie Ross, I was introducted to the world of Roger Corman Films and the kind of guy that bought the cars for the films he was working on and he did the stunt rigging and prep necessary to do his job. From '77 to '80, I worked on three films, produced a live stunt/ air show in Denver and sold cars at Universal City Datsun while I was getting established. From '80-mid '82, I worked for Roger George Special Effects and the original Hollywood Picture Vehicles. In those days, picture car companies had either cop cars, taxi's and ambulances or, they had antique cars. No one really went out of their way to supply the TV Commercial and print companies with the often unique race, exotic, classic or custom car or a chrome Cowboy Cadillac semi truck. I purposely spent a year attending car club meetings, car shows and introducing myself to classic and exotic car collectors and dealers. I hung out at race tracks and got to know and be trusted by almost all of the semi truck and trailer dealers in the LA basin. It seems like everyone with a cell phone is a picture car company these days, but to my knowledge, we were the first of the current crop of car sourcing companies. From a humble start in June of '82, with my girlfriend Laurie Dobson, in a house on Chandler Blvd. in Sherman Oaks. Sadly Laurie passed away not a year into it. A year later, a motorcycle wreck slowed me for a while and a year later, all in the same month, I wrecked my airplane and spent over two months in the hospital. It was a rough start, but today, we are in a 6 acre facility in Santa Clarita. We have several thousand vehicles within our grasp including quite a few of our own, a fleet of transport trucks and trailers, welders, mechanics and prep men. Our office is staffed with people that have been with us for many years and at this point, we have supplied vehicles to thousands of projects. Our main focus is commercials, but over the years, shows like General Hospital, Young & Restless, Capital, Santa Barbara have kept us busy and the Tonight Show has been with us for almost 3 decades. Print, live shows and cars for accident reinactments fill out our year. Over the last few years, we have supplied vehicles for many reality shows including Fear Factor, 101 Ways to Loose a Game Show, Smash Lab, Myth Busters and Top Gear. You have many options out there, but few car suppliers in LA have been around as long or have gathered the level of experience that we posess. 34 years, particularily in the TV Commercial business as an Automotive Action Coordinator and stunt driver. A lifetime of racing motorcycles, cars, off-shore boats, Baja race trucks, a Bonneville Land speed record and multiple records racing 2,000 Horsepower Semi trucks in the Pikes Peak Hill Climb make me a driver and coordinator that you can be confident in. Winning isn't easy, but we do it often and we know what it takes. Racing go-Karts starting at 12 and motorcycles from 16 on, has given the background in performance. Working in garages starting Junior High as a trainee mechanic familiarized me with most every part of a car. Selling them to make a living, buying them to restore and resale at a profit forced me to be budget conscious, working in special effects taught me the fabrication and rigging and vehicles are what we know and do.
